It is easier to send a message to multiple addressees on EMail than by the regular mail or by phone. To send to four people, one simply adds more identifiers at the "To:" prompt. On the other hand, to send the same message to the same four people by regular mail would involve photocopying the letter and making separate envelopes for each person.
